The following information is extracted from their Panchanga and they have given kind permission for this portal to use this information for the benefit of the visitors.  For more information and astrological questions please click here!

You will find the all kinds of festivals listed on the left side table -  These timings and dates are calculated which can be verified by the actual timings you see on the sky - for example the entering of the New Moon or Full Moon -   As you can see the sky and certify the Panchaga Tidhi - it's called   Drik - Ganita = Drigganita.

Major festivals are given in Yellow band,  Sani Trayodasi shown in Blue Band and each month is separated by a blood-red band.

Gocharam - Transit Results as per the Raasi.

Please do not mix these Gocharam with your zodiac sign which you follow to read any other magazine to know your weekly or daily predictions! Please!

This Gochara - Transit - is as per your RAASI.  You know your Star, birth star?  Well! Then you see each Rassi under this table and find out under which Raasi your star is indicated.  That will be your Gochara Rasi.  Well.  Some of you may not be aware of the Stars. particularly the Sanskrit names of these stars. In that case, a bit complicated thing is that you refer your horoscope ( you can get one by going through the google or yahoo. and find out where the Moon is staying in your birth chart.  The house where Moon is placed is the Raasi of your own!  Still you are not encouraged?  Do you have your correct exact time of birth?  Exact! So you get exact results.  You give your 10th class certificate information and you will get the same results! Don't blame Astrology for that!  Send me your exact 1. date of birth ( not that your 10th class again)  2. Place of birth ( it is some king of village or town, let me know the nearest city) 3. Exact time of birth.  Ask your mom, ask her again.  Note down the time and ask her whether it is in the evening or morning?  Ask your Dad . also for confirmation and send these details.

Very long time back there was only Pidaparthy's Panchanga which was authoritative, reliable and recognized Almanac in this part of the world.  Pidaparthy family is in the Astrology and Astronomy for the last 16 generations and even today there is no other family in India with this kind distinction.  The family abhors the publicity and unwanted attention but adores the Drigganita way of calculating the Almanac and its publicity.

The world renowned Astronomy expert Sri NC Lahiri (inventor of famous Lahiri Ayanamsa used to visit these family members frequently)  Government of India when it was constituted the Calendar Reforms Committee under the aegis of Late Prime Minister Sri J L Nehru, the Pidaparthy family was asked to represent in the committee, and consequently the Rastriya Panchanga and Indian Ephemeris were getting wetted by these family members, before it was finally approved till 1977.

The 18th century has seen the last two unique scholars of this family - Sri Peda Purnayya Siddhanti garu and China Purnayya Siddhanti Garu - both brothers - went separately taking two paths of calculating the Almanac. One was towards old method ( Surya Siddanta) and another was for modern method ( Drigganita) . In the 19th century two more scholars came up from the same family of Sri China Poornayya Siddhanti
 - one was Sri Subrahamanya Sastry Garu and another was Sri Purna Krishmamurthy Sastry Garu.

Both brothers - went ahead with unprecedented scholarly knowledge - Subrahmanya Sastry - expert and skilled in Astrological Mathematics while Krishnamurthy Sastry  an expert and scholar in conceptualizing and interpreting the astronomical books - and devoted their entire life towards propagating and establishing the Drigganita System of Panchanga.

Presently authenticated, established and recognized Panchanga from the Pidaparthy family is being published out by Sri Pidaparthy Subrahamanya Sastry - son of Late Sri Subrahmanya Sastry ( son of Sri China Poornayya Siddhanti)  .

Sarvajinnam Samvatsara Ugadi.

Highly reputed with sixteen generations of knowledge, South India's most ancient writers of Panchaanga - The Pidparthy  family - is still publishing Almanac every year from their home town Podagatlapalli, near Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.  Unlike other ancient scholars the uniqueness of this family Panchaanga lies in its reforms, modern outlook and the unprecedented support the family has given for the development and propagation of Driggantiha school of Panchaanga calculations.

Vyaya Naama Samvatsara - Faalguna Bahula Aamavasya - Monday  - 19th March 2007 - Telugu New Year's Day - On this day Solar Eclipse is also appearing.

Kaarthika Sudha Dwadashi, Thursday 22nd November 2007 - River Pushkarini's Pushkara will commence.    In this year 17th May 2007 to 15th June 2007 - Jyestha month will have extra month!

Ugadi Nirnayam

19th March 2007 Monday is the Sarvajinnaama Samvatsara Ugadi

19th March 2007 ( New Moon) Amavasya , Monday till 8.13 am.  Chaitra Sudha Paadyami early morning at 4.32, on the next day 20th March Sun rise at 6.09 am.

Whether Ugadi to be celebrated on 19th Monday or 20th Tuesday is another question.

20th March Tuesday - in the early morning Tidhi Vidiya has already arrived. In a day if there occurs three (3) Tidhis, that situation is called "Apama"   This kind of Apama Tidhis do occur many times in a year. As this Apama has occurred on the Ugadi day - the situation has become complicated, rather made complicated.

References:
Kalachandrika - in which under the chapter of "Decision on Ugadi"  it is stated "

                        "  Chaandra Suklaadi Dharmaantham.  .  ."

In the Peethikaa Sarali

" Paryedyuhu  prati pat abhaavo yadhaa tadhaa - amaam yukthaa"

Similarly in Dharma Pravurthi it is stated that

" If the day is having Apama thidhi, while in the morning Amavaasya is still there - that day should be declared as Abdhapathi"

Similar Apama thidhis are occurred earlier on Ugadi day - in the year Krodhi, Vibhama, Sukla and Bahudhaanya years.
