The Birth of Rudraksha

Our ancient saints and sages were wearing the Rudraksha and that tradition has been carried over to the current period.  Most prominent and most revered and respected woman our late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi used to wear Rudraksha every time. As per our "Purva Mimansa" the exposition of ancient text, the traditions we follow are products of Sruti and Smriti and as such they are certified and accepted.   The following information is being given to give the account of this tradition of wearing Rudraksha has started.

Once, a sage named Bhusunda ( also known as Jaabali)  has enquired Kaalagni Rudra - Maheswara, Siva - about the birth of Rudraksha.  Then Kaalagni Rudra started narrating the incident as follows:

"When I was meditating in the period which is preceding the killing of Demon Tripura, I was closing my eyes for thousand years, and due to that, tears like water drops fallen from my eyes on the earth.  In order to bless the devotees, those water drops became the magnificent Maha Rudraksha Trees.

  As per the definition of            "Rudrasya nayanaa dyutpanna - Rudraksha", as these were born out of the eyes of Rudra, they became Rudraksha.

In another incident, Sampat Kumara has enquired Maheswara about how the Rudraksha to wear - put-on - by any one. At the same time the Sages Nidhagha, Jada Bharatha, Dattatreya, katyayana, Bharadwaja, Kapila and Pippalaada also visited the court of Maheswara and on enquiries, it was told that those sages were also interested to enquire about the process of wearing Rudraksha.

These Rudraksha were born out of the eye drops of Maha Siva.   Mere pronouncing the name of Rudraksha itself will give thousand blessings.  And by just touching the Rudraksha will give ten thousand blessings. Of all the places, wearing Rudraksha as your ear ring is most valued and highly profitable.

Let's talk about the Size -

Rudraksha which is equal to the size of Ping-pong ball is most valuable
Rudraksha which is equal to the size of marble is middle classed
Rudraksha which is equal to the size of general ground net seed is lowest.

Gems do create a positive influences on planets strengthen the effects.   Unless it is original and authenticated one can not acquire the reasonable or perfect results by wearing them. If it is original then its rays reflects the color and then connects to the planet it represents.   As these gem stones are of the family of Coal and Diamonds - people do believe that these stone provide supernatural powers that would protect the owner from different unfortunate situations and guard him from the misfortune.

There is a kind of methodology and systematic approach for wearing and using these Gems according to their color and planet it represents:

If wrong selection is made or ill advise is sought and self taught applications is used, be careful -  these stones are capable of bringing untold calamities in those situations.  The experts say that before you go and make a gold ring to house the Gem you would like to wear, better keep that stone / gem for a week in your shirt pocket and verify the intensity or reflections.  That way you can test it!  And it is must!

Off all these stones, wearing a pearl is safe even without considering the planets or horoscope.  Wearing pearl will certainly brings down the hyper tension and BP to an extent.

Apart from the mere stones - one has to take certain care in selecting the right metal to house the stone and the shape of it and the place ( whether on the finger , or as a chain in the neck etc.,) to be verified and to be done.

Housing metal differs from Gold to even Iron in some cases and situations - according to the Horoscope.
Another important issue is how to handle the Gem stone ring or chain - do we need to wear it 24 hours? Can we carry it into the toilet? Is it advisable to keep it when we go to the bed room or any other places, can we take bath wearing it? And can we take non-vegetarian food with this and is there any restriction in chanting certain hymns - which may be inimical   to the Gem stone or favor to the gem stone to be verified and examined.

In recent times the Astrology has become a kind of outsourcing business! Just like BPO companies - there are number of commercial astrologers whose main investment is a tie-up with the local Gem Merchant and then, chanting few slokas - they start the commercial astrology business.

Nearly a decade back one highly knowledgeable scholar said in a gathering that Astrology is nothing and every one can start predicting the future.  His simple argument was that who will come and visit the astrologer - only the person who is in some kind of problem - which he was unable to solve - wishes to visit the astrologer.  So no happy and easy going and comfortable person will never think twice about visiting an astrologer - like Doctor, unless you have a pain - which you tried to control through Saridon or Action 500, but in vain - you will not go and visit him - like doing a shopping or going to movie theatre!
So, the moment he comes - the scholar said - gauge and estimate the weight of his pocket and his capacity to pay!  Accordingly never start talking about ills, instead discuss about his future and promising days ahead.  Better tell him that what you could see is that a very bright and excellent future in the next year or two - as he has got the money!  Other wise tell him that his days are numbered so that you can pick up whatever is left with him.

In that way, these commercial astrologers are recommending the stones of all kinds, Rudraksha etc., without understanding the Karma.  So far is Hinduism is concerned, you can not escape from your Karma - however you play different kinds of drama.  You realize and accept and agree that YOU did a wrong thing or caused a trouble to others or skinned a poor person - and ask for mercy!  Do some thing in return to the wrong You did some time back - and you will be excused! 

This theory if understood, no one need to go to a astrologer and wear the gem stones.   You invest ten hundred thousands, invite two partners - but internally you want to terminate one partner once the business started picking up as the profits sharing will be less. This crooked idea when it was generated - did you ever consider to wear a gem? Whether  you went to astrologer and consulted about the pros and cons?
